For more than a century, Alblas International Logistics has been connecting worlds through road transport. What began in 1896 is today an internationally operating logistics company with its own fleet, fixed European routes and a strong focus on reliability.

We believe that the quality of our services stands or falls with our team. Our drivers, planners and customs specialists are trained in ADR safety procedures, temperature control for flower transport and F&V transport, and efficient route planning for Linehaul. Their experience and dedication ensure a seamless handling of every shipment.

of our family business

As a family business, we have grown generation after generation from local
transport to an internationally operating logistics partner.
Always in motion.

1896
Scheduled shipping service
In 1896, Hendrik Alblas from ’s-Gravendeel founded a transport service between ’s-Gravendeel and Rotterdam — not by truck, but by scheduled cargo boat. His “line service” connected the countryside with the big city. Milk, cheese and other farm products reached customers faster, while goods from the city were brought back to the Hoeksche Waard.
1932
First trucks
A clear opportunity — demand for fast and reliable transport kept growing. Hendrik soon switched to road transport and purchased his first trucks. Alblas began serving more domestic destinations.

1940-1945
World War II
Through steady investment, Alblas expanded its fleet to a considerable size before WWII. Despite several trucks being seized by occupying forces, growth continued. “Even during the war years, new trucks were still being purchased.” After the war, Alblas was required for many years to keep trucks available for military deployment in cases of emergency or national threat. Fortunately, they were never needed.
1953
North Sea flood disaster
During the 1953 flood disaster, Alblas was able to deploy vehicles to evacuate people to safety.
1960
First international transport
In the years after the war, Alblas remained primarily a domestic transporter, but in 1960 the first trucks crossed the border. Dutch silver onions, salsify and strawberries were delivered to Germany and Switzerland. Because the trucks were not yet refrigerated, drivers had to drive fast!
1980
Polen
In the decades leading up to the new millennium, growth accelerated again. Foreign branches were established, and Alblas became one of the first transport companies to operate in largely communist Poland.
2005
China
After the fall of the Iron Curtain, other Eastern European countries followed quickly. Alblas built a broad eastbound network and even launched a unique over-land transport route to China. In China, an office and two warehouses were opened.
2026 – Market-leading
2026 – Market-leading
Today, in 2026, Alblas is one of the leading logistics service providers in the Benelux — a financially strong company with an extensive fleet and branches in nine countries. Alblas is still fully family-owned, now led by the fifth generation.
